“...his design vision and inspiration transpired into the definition

An accomplished business leader with extensive experience in the telecommunications sector, Donald Burns leverages three decades of industry knowledge to serve as chairman of the board at magicJack, a provider of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) software and technologies. Since inventing the Internet-enabled telecommunications solution, magicJack has sold more than 10 million of its eponymous devices and maintains a presence at over 25,000 retail stores. Donald Burns has served on magicJack’s board of directors since 2010 and is also a member of the firm’s audit committee.
Before joining the board of magicJack, Mr. Burns served as the president of media and communications firm YMax Corp. and later spent several years as the chairman of its board of directors. Earlier in his career, Donald Burns emerged as a telecom industry leader at the helm of Telco Communications Group, Inc. Just three years after co-founding the firm in 1993, Mr. Burns had developed it into one of the largest long distance phone service providers in the United States and broken AT&T’s hold on the long distance market. He led the firm as president and CEO until 1997, when he sold the venture to Excel Telecommunications for $1 billion in cash and equity.
Outside of the telecommunications sector, Donald Burns oversees an LLC with a major financial interest in Razor House, a modern luxury home designed by renowned architect Wallace E. Cunningham that is available as a venue for film and photo shoots. He is also the principal owner of Motor Yacht Chasseur, a luxury yacht offering charter accommodations for up to 12 passengers.
